Do you hold other people up on pedestals?  Do you think you should always be clear and happy, and feel guilty when you aren’t?  Everyone is human, and perfect in their imperfections.

I can feel confused. I can be overwhelmed.  I get anxious.  I feel all the same stuff you do. The fear comes up…but I don’t let it stop me from moving forward, even if ‘forward’ is a babystep.

Babysteps, no matter how small, are one of my main “get unstuck” practices. I LOVE babysteps!

Here’s a two minute video of me sharing about what I did when I was feeling totally overwhelmed last week:

What I Created

In the video I share the next step that gave me a real sense of relief.  Below is the landing page I drafted in Powerpoint.

If you haven’t done one before, or anything like it, it might look like a lot of work.  It wasn’t – I’d already written much of this content up in different places, or in my Unique Genius webinars and invitations.  For me, the challenge was removing content to leave behind the least, best stuff (click on it to enlarge it):

Do you worry about being transparent with clients and friends? It’s much easier to be this way and BE YOURSELF…rather than putting on a mask of perfection.

What Do You Do When You Feel Like This?

By creating a landing page you are learning to fly. A college professor of mine would say that just by creating that single page you are creating a small win. Thank you for sharing Aaron.

    Aaron,
I’m a big fan of the small steps, and I’m also a big fan of the short 2 minute videos. We have our landing page up and our site is moving along, but after seeing your email and video it has me thinking that we should ad much more video to our site, and many more links to short videos in our news letters. Seems like it much easier to get someone to watch a 2 min video than it is to get them to read a comparable amount of text.

In keeping with your baby steps, I think I’m going to pull out my video camera now and shoot a quick video. We’ll probably replace it with HD in the future, but getting something up in low res is probably better than nothing.
    Thanks for the ideas!

@David Belden, yes – low-res is better than nothing. Come back and let us know what you shoot!

Well done, cousin. I enjoy your first-rate speaking delivery in your videos, in particular, and the results you generate in the world get more impressive each time I hear about you. Maybe I’ll make use of your services myself, someday, although my outsized ego sees itself as fully self-sufficient, with all the answers, already… Surely a delusion, and yet there it is! 🙂 The ego drives, and I am just along for the ride. Either way, it’s fun keeping tabs on you through your work releases. Best.
